LeCoultre and a Parisian watchmaker called Edmond Jaeger then joined forces with an engineer called Rene Alfred Chauvot. They designed a unique watch whose case could be slid in its support and flipped over so that the dial-side faced down, thus protecting it from harm. What was once an early, robust sports watch is now considered an Art Deco masterpiece.
Although it was not in continuous production from its initial launch, the Reverso has gained icon status since the brand reintroduced it to its line-up in the 1980s.
